The Green Line is a $5 billion investment in Calgary and at 20 km, it’s the longest segment of LRT we’ve ever built. Currently, The City is preparing for the main construction of Green Line tracks and stations by completing our enabling works program, a series of projects including things like utility relocation and upgrades and land remediation, to make way for the Green Line. When planning any project of this size it is important to do as much due diligence as possible to ensure we are building the best quality project for Calgarians.

The project team is currently undertaking a review of the construction method of the tunnel through the Centre City and Beltline in order to compare two different methods: single bore and twin bore. The primary focus of the review at this time is to determine the best tunneling construction methods and design that will provide a high-quality project for Calgarians within our budget.

More information on station location and layout in the Centre City and Beltline will be available as details are refined over the coming months.
